Damn................

My 18th birthday is in 15 days and last Friday I went to the eye doctor for the first time ever, actually no, I've been to an eye doctor before, but he was my retinal specialist who operated on my for my detatched retina back in grade 8, man that was a long time ago. Anyways, I go to the eye doctor last weekend and I found out that I was "red/green deficient," which means I'm colourblind. LESS THAN A MONTH FROM MY 18th BIRTHDAY AND I JUST FOUND OUT THAT I'M COLOURBLIND!!!!!!!! Honestly, what the fuck is with that????? You would think that I would have noticed by now wouldn't you?

The Night I'll Never Forget Pt. 2

So ya, after I left the concert I went back to the transit place and got on the number 2, cuz it was the same bus I took from clareview station to get to WEM so you expect that I could take it back to clareview. It seems logical enough but no, that's not the way it was. It didn't go to clareview, it went to Highland, which is on the way to clareview but not all the way there, so I got booted off the bus at 1:30 in the morning at the corner of 50st and 118ave, and for those who don't know, that's not a very nice place, but luckily all the hookers were standing in front of the 7eleven across the street and not the pizza73 I was waiting in front of. What I didn't know was that after 9 pm the number 2 doesn't go all the way back to clareview, so there I was, in the middle of hookerville when I remembered I had my brother's cell phone, so luckily I was able to get him to come and pick me up, but honestly, it was freaky in there. Here's the funny thing, all of this could have been avoided if I had gotten off Downtown and taken the LRT because the last northbound train goes through Corona station at 1:11 am and I was by there long before that, however I wasn't thinking, I was too tired and too thirsty. Oh well, you live and learn

A Night I'll Never Forget Pt. 1

Last night I had several extremely interesting experiences. Yesterday was the Matthew Good concert, and I was pumped, because I couldn't go to see him the last time he came through Edmonton, as it was a licensed event, ergo no minors. However this time he played at Red's so it was an all ages gig. It started out all good, I hopped the bus at clareview station, took it to WEM, and got in line, and I was near the front of the line too, so that was a bonus. The show started, limblifter was on first, they fucking rocked, I advise anyone who reads this to go out and get their CD's, great Canadian music. After limblifter came auf der maur, now Melissa Auf Der Maur was the bass player for both Hole and Smashing Pumpkins, now that is a pretty impressive resume. auf der maur was interesting, imagine a Canadian, female version of Tool, that's the impression I got from it, quite intriguing. Next was the main event...........And it was worth the wait. He started out with a modified version of 21st century living, and it was cool, then came hello timebomb, and weapon, alert condition red, and a whole lot of stuff that I had never heard before, it was spectacular. But to end it all, he did a extremely powerful version of apparition, it was awesome, just him on stage with his acoustic. Then came the encore, load me up followed by carmalina, but here's where I did a very bad thing, I left before the show was truly over, but I had my reasons. However the truly great part of the night was in between the songs, the social/political commentary was truly great, everything I expected from him and more. He hates Ralph Klein, he's anti missile defense, he thinks that the people who stay in the jungle rooms at the fantasyland hotel have something wrong with them, I mean who wakes up to go and take a bath in a goddamn volcano? Oh yes, I mustn't forget, on the topic of missile defense, if you don't want our fearless prime minister to make another monumental failure, go to http://www.ceasefire.ca and send a letter to Mr. Martin to tell him that we as a nation will have no part in some grand American Empire scheme those republican fools down south are trying.

We'll be back after a word from our sponsors............

The Great Glass Caper

Yes, of course I am referring to the epic tale of Matthew's missing yellow-tinted spectacles. You see, it all started a long time ago, on an acreage far far away..................................

It began as an ordinary weekend, I was back at my parent’s house, to do laundry, and get a home cooked meal. You know, the usual things college students do when they can't afford to do laundry in their apartment building ($3.00 a load is just an outrageous price). I spent the day doing what I usually do when visiting mother and father, making sure that their computer is still running, mowing the lawn, doing any other menial tasks that my father sees fit to add to my already large workload, and if I get time.....attempt to get some of my monstrous homework assignments done before they're due (which is usually the next Monday or Tuesday). However, this weekend was different, what started as an ordinary day turned into something extraordinary, something spectacular. It happened around 4:00, I gave Landon a call to see what was going on in his neck of the woods, and in the end, he and Matt were invited over to the Casa de Reed to congregate, drink, and generally...."chill." And chill we did, Matt (with his new job at the liquor store) brought over 2 cases of Strongbow, we went over to Jack and Ev's (for future notice, these 2 individuals will most likely be mentioned many times over the course of this site, Jack was....for lack of a better word, my mentor, the best friend a guy could hope for....but let's get back to the story shall we?) Now where was I? Oh yes, Jack and Ev's, we went over to say hi, and saw for the first time, Jack's new toy, a 2002 Suzuki 900....I think.....the number might be wrong, but I know it's a Suzuki. To continue on, we went over and saw his new "toy" and were mightily impressed with this beautiful piece of Japanese engineering. After that, we returned to the house to watch movies and drink. After which point, Landon decided that he had to leave, something about other "commitments" the following morning, and alas, Matthew also had plans as well, and so they left (but don't worry, Landon doesn't drink and he was the one who drove Matt over so you have no need to worry). However to Matt's future dismay, he had forgotten his yellow-tinted spectacles. He informed me of this several days later while online, and I told him that the next time I was back at my parent's. Unfortunately, when I returned to search for the missing item, it was nowhere to be found, I thought that perhaps my mother had moved them while cleaning but unfortunately, I couldn't ask her as she was in Saskatchewan visiting her parents. Weeks went by with no luck, but then several days ago, a stroke of luck, finally, a clue!!!!!!! As it turns out, my brother had been out to the homestead several days before I had returned on my epic and noble quest, and had removed the spectacles, thinking that they belonged to one of his friends, not one of mine. All the while they were sitting in my good friend Cody's basement, not 4 blocks away from where I am sitting now.

I am writing this for several reasons: for starters, it's easier to blog and tell potentially thousands of people as well as Matthew that his possession has been recovered than it is to write him a letter detailing my quest, that and I don't know his phone number or address........and secondly, I hope that maybe, just maybe this long winded, drawn out, melodramatic, sad excuse for a story will somehow attract more readers so that I just might be able to get to the real reason I started this site, to spread my truth

But now I must take my leave......adios

Promising Beginnings

In all probability, no one will ever read this. And I find that extremely humorous
